  • Set acceptable pitch variations for practice

We added a new setting in our tuner. Now when you do your pitch matching exercise using your microphone, you can set acceptable pitch variations. The possible values range from +/-5 to +/-40 cents. This setting is available in the section “Tuner settings”.

The program will not accept your correct answer unless you sing the note in tune within the accepted range.

With this setting you can tailor your practice with our perfect pitch trainer to your level.

If you are a beginner, you can start with:

    • longer notes (the setting “note length” is available under “Virtual instrument settings”),
    • wider pitch range, let’s say, +/-35 cents.

When you progress you can decrease the note length to 1 or even 0.5 seconds and make pitch variations range narrower, for example, +/-10 cents.

  • We translated the site into Swedish

We recently translated our website into Swedish.

Sweden brought us some very famous music artists, including ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base, Avicii and Europe.

You may be surprised, but Sweden’s second largest export is music.

Hopefully our Perfect Pitch Trainer Online will help musicians from Sweden with their ear training.

  • We added the “transpose” option in pitch trainer

In case you play a transposing musical instrument, such as saxophone or clarinet, we have a good news for you.

We added an option in our Absolute Pitch Trainer that allows you to transpose notes.

Note that in the exercises for perfect pitch development we recommend starting with the notes F# and D#. Usually these notes are easier to identify for someone with untrained ear. These are concert pitch F# and D#. If you play a transposing instrument, you will need to figure out which note you should play in order to produce these sounds.

  • We translated the site in Italian

We are happy to announce that the site is now available in Italian.

Italy is the home country of many famous composers, including Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Antonio Vivaldi, Claudio Monteverdi.

If you like contemporary music, you probably know the following Italian musicians and singers: Adriano Celentano, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Ennio Morricone, Toto Cotugno.

And obviously Italy is famous by its opera school.

Hopefully, our Absolute Pitch trainer will help musicians from this country with their ear and voice training.
