• We are adding a tuner to our ear trainer!

We are happy to announce that we are add a new feature to our Perfect Pitch Ear Trainer – a built-in tuner.

Now you can answer the questions using your microphone and have an instant feedback.

We hope this new feature will be especially helpful to people who use the ear trainer to develop the singing voice.

You can also use it if you play a musical instrument and want to learn how to play by ear.

We compiled a list of several tips how you can use tuner to develop perfect pitch.

  • Our Perfect Pitch Trainer becomes mobile-friendly

During the last couple of weeks we made some updates to make our online perfect pitch trainer mobile friendly.

    That includes:

    • an option to display only the notes from selected interval on the virtual keyboard.
    • a slider under the virtual keyboard that allows you to scroll it, if it doesn’t fit completely in your screen.
    • the support for iOS is partly implemented – the single note exercises (both practice and test) are working fine now.
  • Smart loading of audio files

We updated the algorithm, so the audio files would not preload automatically in your browser. If you are on a mobile devices it can save you a couple of megabytes of data.

Now only the audio for the default interval will be loaded once you click the play button.

The new algorithm works fine with desktop browsers and on Android devices. The support for iOS is coming very soon! 🙂

  • Practice perfect pitch with guitar fretboard

We are happy to announce the release of the guitar fretboard in our online perfect pitch trainer.

Up until you could only practice with virtual piano keyboard. Now, if you play a guitar, it will be much more natural for you to practice using the virtual guitar fretboard.

We have several guitars, both acoustic and electric, in our collection of virtual instruments.

What is also cool is that you are not limited to the guitar sound, you can choose ANY instrument, for example, flute or piano and still practice detecting notes on a guitar fretboard.
